Mothers Day Minis

Thank you so much for booking onto my Mothers Day Mini sessions! I am so looking forward to capturing you and your little ones. This is just a mini guide with all the information you need ahead of your session including what to expect, recommendations on what to wear and most importantly, how to find the location I’ve picked out.

Full disclosure, I had expected the trees to be a lot more green by March than they are, so the locations I had originally planned I’ve opted not to use and have found somewhere with lots of beautiful dried grass and heathland rather than mud and dead trees!

What to expect during your session

I’m all about the natural, unforced, real moments and it’s important to me that you and your little ones enjoy the experience. There won’t really be any formal posing, my approach is always to go with the natural flow of our time together and I’ll give prompts and direction where ever necessary to get the best out of your session. We’ll laugh a lot and capture those natural smiles and real moments. And of course if there’s any particular shots you would like to get then we can recreate those too!

What should we wear?

Most importantly, wear something that you feel comfortable in. I always recommend sticking to neutral colours or more earthy tones like burnt orange, burgundies or blue hues as they compliment your environment and create timeless photos. Try and keep everyone coordinated within the same colour palette and avoid anything bright or patterned as these don’t photograph well on camera. Textures always look really lovely, and the main thing is to choose what feels right for you.

Location

The session will be taking place at Hook Common and Bartley Heath, just off the M3 outside of Basingstoke. Please note there is no car park access to the common, you will need to park in the lay by on the A287 just ahead of the roundabout. I have screenshot the location to park on google maps below for you.

You should see the big orange cones on your left, this is where to pull in, go through the gate to access the common and take the first left through the trees - you should then see me up ahead in the grassland. If you have any problems at all finding me, my contact number is 07584317927.

Is there anything I should bring?

Nope! I will have a cute little set up with the linen sheet hanging from the trees and a rustic wooden chair for you to sit on. I’ll also have lots of blankets for us to use. The only thing to note is that the location I have picked out has no access to toilets or any facilities so please bare that in mind when you arrive!

How will I receive my photos?

Within two weeks of your session (ahead of Mothers Day) I’ll send you a link to a private online gallery where you can see all the fully edited photographs from your session. From this gallery you will be able to select your 5 chosen images, or if you love them all I offer to option to upgrade to your full gallery or add on any additional shots you would like to purchase.

Final Notes

Please arrive at least ten minutes ahead of your scheduled time. I am running these sessions back to back so I will not be able to extend your time if you are late I’m afraid. The entrance to the common can be quite muddy and the ground fairly uneven so please watch your step when you come in. And finally, if you have any questions at all or even just want to run some outfit options by me I am always here for a chat. I cannot wait to meet you!
