Emily & Samuel’s Joy-Filled Wasing Park Wedding
A Joy-Filled Wasing Park Wedding Near Basingstoke
Wasing Park is a romantic barn wedding venue nestled in the Berkshire countryside just outside of Basingstoke in the South of England. It has the perfect blend of rustic charm and refined elegance with its stunning walled garden ceremony space, characterful castle barn, and unique victorian summerhouse.
Emily & Samuel were the happiest, sweetest, most beautiful couple, I absolutely adored capturing their incredible day at Wasing Park. Their love story is truly something special and it was a beautiful thing to witness two people who are so clearly made for each other come together. The joy and love surrounding them from their friends and family was such a beautiful thing to experience and capture. Their day was an unforgettable celebration filled with energy, laughter, and a whole lot of dancing. From a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the walled garden to a Scottish ceilidh that had everyone on their feet, this wedding perfectly reflected the couple’s personalities - warm, joyful, and completely unapologetic fun.
A High-Energy Start to the Day
When I first got chatting to Emily and Samuel, I just knew it was going to be an incredible day. Their plans were jam-packed with fun, an outdoor wedding ceremony in Wasing Park’s walled garden, a Pimms reception in the sunshine, and kicking off the evening with a Scottish ceilidh that had the entire wedding party dancing from the very first song. The energy on this day was incredible, and it started right from the morning. Walking into bridal prep the excitement was infectious. Emily was the most incredible bride, relaxed, radiant, and fully soaking up every moment.
Outdoor Ceremony in the Walled Garden at Wasing Park
The couple chose to say their vows outdoors in Wasing Park’s stunning walled garden, one of the most picturesque ceremony locations near Basingstoke. Surrounded by lush greenery and summer blooms stands the victorian summerhouse the setting felt intimate and romantic, offering a sense of seclusion while still allowing guests to soak in the charm of the Berkshire countryside. Their ceremony was filled with emotion, love, and heartfelt moments, perfectly reflecting their relationship
Relaxed Couple Portraits at Wasing Park
Stepping away for couple portraits gave Emily and Samuel a quiet moment together, allowing them to fully soak in the day and each other. Taking them off into the grounds of Wasing Park, their connection truly shone, effortless, and completely unforced. There was no need for stiff posing or interruption; instead, it was about giving them space to breathe, laugh, and simply be together amid the excitement of their wedding day.
What stood out most was how present they were, totally embraced in the moment and in one another. Whether walking hand in hand through the estate or sharing a quiet laugh away from the crowd, their portraits reflected a genuine intimacy and joy that felt deeply personal. These relaxed, documentary-style couple portraits are always some of my favourites, capturing not just how the day looked, but exactly how it felt.
A Scottish Ceilidh to Start the Party
As the celebrations moved into the evening, Emily and Samuel did something a little different kicking off the night with a Scottish ceilidh in the Castle Barn. The energy instantly skyrocketed, with guests of every age joining in, laughing, spinning, and dancing together. It was the perfect way to set the tone for the evening and a brilliant reminder that weddings don’t have to follow tradition to be unforgettable.
Emily and Samuel’s wedding day is without a doubt one I’ll be looking back on fondly for a very long time. From the laughter-filled morning to the wild dance floor energy, it was an absolute joy to be part of a day so full of love and life. I wish you both the most incredible start to married life and the best adventures ahead. And as for Wasing Park, I can’t wait to be back at this beautiful venue very soon.
