LOCATIONS GUIDE

Choosing the right location for your shoot is everything. Whether you're chasing golden-hour beach vibes or exploring deep into the forest for those rich, earthy tones, this guide features some of my personal favourite spots carefully chosen and mapped out by season, so you’ll always know where to go and when it looks its best. From wide-open fields to quiet hidden meadows, there’s something here for every style and every season.

FRENSHAM POND // FARNHAM, SURREY

SAND // WATER // HEATHLAND

Frensham Pond is probably my most-used location for shoot and for good reason. It’s a stunning spot through every season, with golden sand, pockets of heathland, tranquil water views, and plenty of beautiful, secluded corners to explore. The way the sun sets here creates the dreamiest golden hour light, and it’s a location that just works no matter the time of year.

WEST WITTERING BEACH // CHICHESTER

SAND // SEA // DUNES

West Wittering is my favourite beach location. It’s a little further afield, but well worth the trip for those true beachy vibes - think soft sand dunes, wide open skies, and beautiful blue sea. It’s perfect for sessions all year round, although it can get really cold and windy during the winter months, so be sure to come wrapped up warm and fully embrace the sand in your hair.

Bucklers Forest // Crowthorne

FOREST // LONG GRASS // GORSE

Bucklers Forest is the perfect spot if you’re after that true forest feel. The colours are beautiful all year round thanks to the unique tree varieties, and in early spring the vibrant yellow gorse is in full bloom. The long, soft grasses along the forest floor add warmth, texture, and a sense of depth to your photos. It’s also great for families with young children, with an amazing playground conveniently located right next to where you park up.

Marchwood Inclosure // New Forest

Forest // Woodland // Heathland

A quiet, lesser-visited part of the New Forest that really shines in early spring. At this time of year the inclosure is dotted with gorse in full bloom, its bright yellow flowers against muted heathland grasses and bare birch makes it a stunning spot, particularly at sunrise or sunset. Beautiful all year round too with its tall trees and open heathland.

HORSELL COMMON // WOKING, SURREY

FOREST // SAND // WATER

Horsell Common is a great choice if you're after that foresty/woodland feel. With a mix of open spaces with sand and water, giving you those beautiful light tones in contrast to the deep greens of the trees. There are some lovely hidden spots with fallen trees that are perfect for those playful, natural shots, especially with kids climbing and exploring. Great all year round, will look more brown through the winter months, and brighter greens through the summer.

GREENHAM COMMON // NEWBURY

GORSE // HEATHLAND // WATER

This is one of my go-to spots out of season (winter/early spring). It’s a beautiful open space that gives New Forest vibes, with bright yellow gorse when in bloom and narrow winding paths along the water’s edge. Peaceful and full of subtle seasonal colour, it’s a lovely setting when everywhere else is looking a bit brown.

Greywell Cows Meadow // near Hook

WILDFLOWERS // MEADOW // WHEAT FIELDS

Greywell Cows Meadow is the perfect mix of settings all in one spot. It’s a beautiful wildflower meadow (just keep an eye out for the free-roaming cows!), and if you follow a small bridge through the trees, it opens up into wide open farmers’ fields, usually filled with wheat if you time it right. One of the standout features is a beautiful, big tree set back in the middle of the meadow making a stunning focal point for photos.

HOOK COMMON // Hook, HAMPSHIRE

FERN // LONG GRASS // WOODLAND

Hook Common is a lovely little spot tucked just off the roadside. It’s great outside of the summer months as the long grass creates a soft, creamy backdrop, while the green or rust-toned ferns make it perfect for those earthy, natural-style shoots, particularly maternity sessions. The only downside is the very uneven ground, so it’s not a location I usually recommend for families with young children.

OLD DOWNS // BASINGSTOKE, HAMPSHIRE

MEADOW // WILDFLOWERS // DAISIES

Old Down in Basingstoke is my favourite local spot. This location transforms beautifully with the seasons, but it truly shines from May to June, when it bursts into colour with yellow and purple wildflowers. By July, the entire field becomes a sea of daisies, and as August rolls in, it shifts to long golden grasses dotted with delicate white blooms. It also backs onto farmland, giving you easy access to wheat fields or vibrant rapeseed fields when they’re in season, perfect if you're after those classic countryside vibes.

Don’t forget,

I am always happy to travel to a personal location that holds special memories for you as a couple or family. Whether it’s somewhere close to home, a favourite walk you return to time and again, or a place linked to an important moment in your story, these meaningful locations often add an extra layer to your photos and help make them truly personal.
